Scooter Libby Sentenced to 30 Months
On Tuesday, June 5, former Bush Administration aid, Scooter Libby, was sentenced to 30 months in a federal prison institution.
Libby was allowed to remain free pending the Bureau of Prisons designation of the specific institution to which he must surrender in 60 days.
The Judge at sentencing denied an appeal bond so that Libby could remain free pending appeal but the Judge gave defense lawyers leave to file briefs to reconsider the question of bail on appeal.
President Bush could pardon Libby, but will probably wait to learn the outcome of the anticipated request for bail on appeal.
